About

I am a smart, kind, and courageous courtroom advocate.

My heart-centered approach and love for the human side of the law help me creatively solve problems and, when necessary, win over judges and juries—and has built my reputation as a “force of nature” and a “breath of fresh air.” I have a knack for optimistically making things happen.

I benefit from having seen all sides of the law. I’ve represented the government, large corporations, and individual plaintiffs, in civil and criminal cases and in federal and state courts.

Now, I’m devoted to helping people navigate the legal fallout from painful life events, including traumatic injuries and criminal indictment. I stand with you when going up against corporations, insurance companies, and the government.

Education

I graduated from Stanford Law School, where I edited the Stanford Law Review, won prizes, and made friends.

I’ve also attended the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard College, and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

After law school, I clerked for the Honorable Rebecca Beach Smith, then the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Prior Life as a Federal Prosecutor

I served as an Assistant United States Attorney for five years. I investigated and prosecuted federal offenses involving sex trafficking, violent crime, cyberstalking, fraud, military export control violations, and national security threats.

Prior Life as a Corporate Litigator

I flew around the country litigating and trying high-stakes commercial disputes for Fortune 500 corporate clients.

Outside the Law

I have bungee jumped, couch surfed, solo-backpacked around the world, and hiked over 1,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail.

When not adventuring, you can find me reading, doing yoga, sitting in a women’s circle, kibbitzing in a coffee shop, and laughing with my family.
